Creator of the #SpeakMikmaq Revolution, and Youth Leader from Mi'kmaq tribe of Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick, Savvy's positive approach to sharing positive vibes in a real and authentic way has gained a following of over 35,000.
Savvy is a breastfeeding Mama who has a passion for HAPPINESS. She has a love for the purity of doTERRA essential oils and gets excited to share her journey along with you! Health concerns are real and are increasing by the minute. She is motivated to help anyone and all interested, but has a special place in her heart to help her indigenous people put their health and wellness into their own hands and gain EMPOWERMENT and confidence in their lives! Just like our ancestors once did.
With a smile you will never forget and a presence that will light up your heart, Savvy Simon is changing the world one hug at a time with her FREE HUGS movement. From elementary children to our government officials, Savvy breaks down barriers and changes perspectives the moment she walks into the room.
Savvy spreads love throughout the world, and having worked alongside Dolly Parton, National Chief Shawn Alteo in Saskatoon (12min) where he was inspired by our Mother Earth youth collaboration video, Comedian Don Burnstick, and Buffy St-Marie to name a few. She is now in two published books- URBAN TRIBES (Lisa Charleyboy, Mary Beth Leatherdale) alongside Joseph Boyden, Ashley Callingbull, Wab Kinew to name a few and also featured in the Colour of our Spirit where she was painted by Artist, @AuraLast Monique Bedard. You can learn more about the works Savvy does in raising awareness for the Indian Residential School Survivors in a McGraw & Hill 2016 textbook titled Moving Forward. Savvy is an educator, entrepreneur, activist, mentor and entertainer. The furthest place she's ever shared a motivational talk was in Maui, Hawaii.
With a degree in Business Marketing, she did what most people do and began working as a public servant only to find out that the call to follow her passion was stronger than her day-to-day work. She stepped out of her comfort zone and decided to finally believe in her own passions and create her own company; Savvy UnLtd- 'unlimited love to give'.
Savvy has embraced social media as a tool for the launch of her Mi'kmaq Language Revolution: #SpeakMikmaq, creating a YouTube playlist for Educators to use in their classrooms. She's had universities, high schools, & colleges contact her to use her videos as part of curriculum. Encouraged by her work, the language hashtag movement has been adopted and emulated by an increasing number of tribes throughout North America, where Savvy will be hired to teach her 'savvy' ways of using social media to indigenize our language online. Thanks to APTN and New Fire at CBC for highlighting her works.
Co-Creator of the Red Road Tribe (@RedRoadTribe), a Tribe for all Nations – a movement encouraging and connecting people to rise above, in sobriety, and self-respect. Savvy leads her followers to reach their greatest potential. Former native dancer at the Vancouver Olympics opening ceremonies has truly showed her that when you stay on a good path, work hard and surround yourself around positive people - life becomes truly magical. Her love for life and bountiful energy captivates her audience and leaves them energized and motivated.
